[Institution: UK Inflation Remains Stable, Central Bank Set to Hold Steady This Week] According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 17, MHA analyst Joe Nellis stated in a report that with inflation remaining unchanged in May, it is almost certain that the Bank of England will not raise interest rates on Thursday. The annual inflation rate for May was 2.8%, the same as the previous month and below market expectations. Nellis remarked, 'The central bank continues to remain calm, closely monitoring the difficult and ongoing trade-off between controlling inflation and avoiding further economic damage.' If the Middle East situation remains stable, the Bank of England may not need to raise interest rates at all this year, and the inflation rate is expected to stay below 4%. However, even if tensions in the Middle East ease quickly, inflation may still see a slight increase in the coming months.
