Former senior executive of Taizi Group, Zhang Gangyao, stated that Hu Xiaowei played a key role in Chen Zhi's career as the person who led him into the online gambling industry and was his "big brother". Chen Zhi has always had great respect for him.
Hu Xiaowei started his career in the legendary private server industry and was once the leader of the famous hacker "Knight Attack Group", of which Chen Zhi was one of the members at that time.
It is widely rumored in the Cambodian Chinese community that on the night of Chen Zhi's arrest, Hu Xiaowei and other senior executives of the Crown Prince Group took a private plane to Japan.
The other person caught is Liu Ren.
On the evening of June 10th, Cambodian police handed over Chinese suspect Liu Ren to Chinese law enforcement agencies and sent a special plane to escort him back to China.
Liu Ren, chairman of the Cambodian Anhui Chamber of Commerce, was arrested on the 47th floor of Mount Huangshan International Building in Phnom Penh on June 5.
He is accused of multiple serious crimes including transnational crime, kidnapping, illegal detention, and torture. He was once one of the major shareholders of Golden Bay 3 Industrial Park in Xigang.
After the founder of the Crown Prince Group, Chen Zhi, was arrested and deported back to China, Liu Ren left Phnom Penh by private plane and fled to Malaysia, but later returned to Cambodia and was eventually arrested in Phnom Penh.
According to reports, the Chinese police had planned to arrest Liu Ren at least a month ago.
Liu Ren comes from Lingbi County, Anhui Province, China. He came to Cambodia in 2000 and started by selling small commodities such as toothbrushes and toothpaste. Later, he opened a restaurant and gradually entered the real estate and construction industries. He purchased multiple lands in Xigang and Phnom Penh, becoming a well-known figure in the Chinese community of Cambodia.
Liu Ren has been on this path for 26 years, from a toothbrush business to a real estate tycoon and then to a prisoner.
