HORMUZ REOPENING COULD TRIGGER SHORT-TERM TANKER SURGE – KPLER
Kpler says reopening of the Strait of Hormuz could initially release about 118 trapped laden tankers, causing a sharp but temporary spike in traffic over 10–15 days. Recovery speed depends on how quickly new vessels return. In a base case, transits rise from ~15 per day to 40 by month-end, with tankers making up around 60%, while a faster rebound scenario remains unlikely.(*Walter Bloomberg)
