[Hong Kong Unemployment Rate Remains at 3.7%, Unemployed Population Rises to Over 140,000] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 16, the Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong government announced that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Hong Kong remained at 3.7% from March to May this year, while the underemployment rate also remained at 1.5%. During this period, unemployment rate changes varied across industries, with declines mainly observed in the cleaning and similar activities sector, while increases were primarily seen in the social work activities and accommodation services sectors. The underemployment rate across industries also showed mixed changes, but the fluctuations were generally minor. The total employment population stood at 3.6393 million, a decrease of approximately 8,700 people, while the total labor force was 3.7803 million, a decrease of about 6,900 people. The number of unemployed individuals (not seasonally adjusted) rose to 141,100, an increase of approximately 1,900 people, while the number of underemployed individuals fell to 56,800, a decrease of about 1,300 people.
