Taiwan's Commercial Times reports that NVIDIA and Google's next-gen AI data centers might be the first to adopt 800V HVDC, with the supply chain expecting small-scale shipments to begin in Q3. Last week, a SemiAnalysis article suggested that large-scale 800VDC shipments could be delayed until 2028, and also highlighted potential delays in CPO, which gave the AI hardware supply chain a scare. Also last week, Morgan Stanley quickly responded, stating that while the short-term pace of CPO could be more cautious, they do not agree with the claim that 800V mass production will be delayed until 2028. Their supply chain research indicates that 800V cabinets are still on track for rollout in the second half of 2026.
Today's report from the Commercial Times feels like adding another layer to the story.
