[Trump: Strait Permanently Exempt from Transit Fees, Military Action Against Iran to Resume if Final Agreement Not Reached]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 15, citing The New York Times, U.S. President Donald Trump stated in an interview on Sunday afternoon local time that the agreement he reached with Iran would ultimately ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains "permanently exempt from transit fees." He also noted that despite opposition from Netanyahu, he has saved Israel from nuclear annihilation. "He is a very tough person," Mr. Trump said of Netanyahu, "Honestly, he should be very grateful for what we've done. Because if Iran had nuclear weapons, Israel might only have two hours left."
Trump further insisted that if Iran fails to reach a final nuclear agreement with the United States— a process expected to begin on Friday in Switzerland— he would resume military action against Tehran or make the U.S. the "guardian of the Middle East" in exchange for 20% of the region's revenue.
