[Iranian Official Reveals US-Iran Memorandum Draft: Open Strait, US Unfreezes Assets, Waives Oil Sanctions]
According to Reuters, as cited by Jin10, a senior Iranian official stated that under the memorandum draft reached with the United States, Tehran has agreed neither to produce nor acquire nuclear weapons. The US, in the memorandum draft, agreed that Tehran would dilute its stockpile of highly enriched uranium within Iran, with specific mechanisms to be discussed over the next 60 days.
Under the memorandum draft, the US will waive oil sanctions on Iran within a specified timeframe, allowing Iran to sell oil and generate revenue. Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz to all merchant ships, while the US will lift the maritime blockade. The US has agreed to release $25 billion of Iran's frozen assets, with the release methods including direct cash transfers, regional cooperation, and financial credit lines.
Before reaching a final agreement, Iran has agreed to maintain the nuclear status quo, including refraining from uranium enrichment activities and not expanding nuclear facilities. The US has agreed not to impose any new sanctions on Iran before a final agreement is reached.
