[Reuters: Zuckerberg Admits to Mistakes in Meta's Transition to AI, Promises No More Mass Layoffs This Year]
According to Reuters, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees in an internal memo that the company made some mistakes during its transition to AI through layoffs and role changes. 'Given the complexity of these changes, we have made some mistakes, and we will almost certainly make more,' he added, emphasizing his 'commitment to maintaining as much stability as possible in future organizational changes.'
In May, Meta laid off 10% of its workforce and reassigned 7,000 employees to AI-related roles. Zuckerberg stated that Meta does not anticipate conducting company-wide layoffs again this year and will strive to find new positions for employees reassigned to AI model training work.
