Previously, Anthropic caused a huge controversy for refusing to let their large model be used in Trump's plans for the Iraq war. Back then, a lot of people uninstalled GPT and switched to Claude to show their support. I guess this restriction won’t last long since it could shake confidence in the U.S. stock market. More likely, it’s just a tactic to get Anthropic to cooperate later on. That said, Fable 5 really burns through tokens like crazy. Taking a two-day break over the weekend to recover isn’t such a bad idea. If this news blows up next week and causes volatility in AI-related stocks, it might actually be a good dip-buying opportunity. Trump’s strategy of creating problems first and then solving them for credit isn’t exactly new. When the time comes, they’ll probably just announce that the vulnerabilities the government was worried about have been patched up by programmers pulling all-nighters, and that’ll be that.
