According to Bloomberg, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is considering blocking CME from launching 24/7 crude oil futures contracts. Insiders say regulators are concerned that round-the-clock trading could further exacerbate crude oil market volatility during times of geopolitical tension, meaning the product might not get approved. This comes as tensions rise between CME and the CFTC over crypto perpetual futures regulation. Previously, CME CEO Terry Duffy publicly criticized the CFTC for paving a regulatory path for crypto perpetual contracts, while both CME and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) have urged U.S. regulators to rein in unregulated trading platforms. https://(wublock123.com)/news/cftc-considers-blocking-cme-24-7-crude-futures-62700
