She pointed out that the output of this sector is currently growing at an annual rate of 6.7%, and since Q4 2019, the sector's output has increased by 45.4%, while the overall economic value added during the same period has only grown by 6%. "The industries most susceptible to the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence are simultaneously driving GDP growth and productivity improvements, which seems far from a mere coincidence." Skarica added that, given the Bank of England's statement last year that the UK's structural productivity growth was negative, the bank should provide more commentary on this matter this year.
