According to Korean media outlet Sedaily, KB Kookmin Bank has announced the issuance of a $100 million blockchain-based digital bond in the Hong Kong market. Reportedly, this marks the first time blockchain technology has been applied to actual foreign currency financing by the Korean banking industry. The two-year USD digital bond was issued via private placement, with an issuance rate of SOFR (Secured Overnight Financing Rate) + 0.4 percentage points. HSBC acted as the sole bookrunner, and the issuance process was completed through HSBC's digital asset platform, Orion. KB Kookmin Bank stated that this issuance reduced the settlement cycle from the traditional 5 business days to 3 business days, helping to streamline the process and lower settlement default risks. https://(wublock123.com)/news/korea-national-bank-issues-100m-blockchain-digital-bond-hk-62602
