Morgan Stanley: Global AI related bond issuance will approach $570 billion by 2026
Odaily Planet Daily News: According to Morgan Stanley's latest forecast, the global issuance of artificial intelligence (AI) related bonds is expected to reach nearly $570 billion by 2026, more than doubling from last year. Given that capital expenditures of hyperscalers are expected to exceed $1 trillion by 2027, Morgan Stanley believes that the pace of bond issuance will further accelerate in the second half of this year. As of the end of May this year, approximately $236 billion in AI related debt financing has been issued globally, which is about four times the financing scale of the same period last year. As technology companies continue to expand their spending in the AI field and gradually exceed the scope of their own profits, debt financing is becoming an increasingly important source of funding for them. Morgan Stanley pointed out that in order to diversify financing channels, ultra large scale cloud service providers are increasingly issuing bonds outside the US dollar market. For example, giants such as Google's parent company Alphabet and Amazon have already issued large amounts of Eurobonds in the European market. (Caixin News Agency)
