According to a report by the Korea Economic Daily, KB Kookmin Bank has announced the successful issuance of $100 million (approximately 152.48 billion KRW) in USD-denominated digital bonds, becoming the first financial institution in South Korea's banking sector to issue USD digital bonds based on blockchain technology. The exclusive lead underwriter for this issuance is HSBC, and the bonds were issued through HSBC's digital asset platform, HSBC Orion.
