[Kalshi to Require Certain Prediction Market Participants to Disclose Employer Information to Prevent Insider Trading] According to The Wall Street Journal, Kalshi plans to require users participating in certain prediction markets to disclose their employer information in order to prevent insider trading and market manipulation. Users involved in sensitive markets, such as those related to corporate performance and national security (including the Iran war), will need to submit an online form specifying their workplace. Kalshi typically does not verify this information unless suspicious activity is detected, at which point an investigation may be initiated, and employment proof requested. The report indicates that in the first quarter of 2026, Kalshi has filed over 20 reports with the CFTC and the Department of Justice, involving former Congressman George Santos and accounts linked to military spouses. Some of these accounts are suspected of using non-public information, such as accurately placing bets days before the arrest of Venezuela's former president.
