The project party disclosed that the attack originated from an employee's laptop being hacked, resulting in the leakage of multiple owner keys of Gnosis Safe, which controls Hyperlane bridge ProxyAdmin. On the Ethereum side, the attacker seized ownership of ProxyAdmin and upgraded the contract to a malicious implementation, resulting in the transfer of approximately 141.2 million H tokens in one transaction. On the BSC side, after also controlling ProxyAdmin, the attacker deployed a malicious implementation with unlimited issuance function, issuing 200 million H tokens in two separate transactions and continuously selling them.
