[Iranian Official: Iran Does Not Rule Out Advancing Negotiations, But the U.S. Must Show Sincerity]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 9, citing U.S. sources from June 8, Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's Islamic Parliament, stated in an interview that, in principle, Iran does not oppose advancing peace talks with the United States, but the U.S. must change its current approach and demonstrate sincerity. Azizi noted that there are still differences between Iran and the U.S. on major issues such as Iran's nuclear program and uranium enrichment, and a lack of trust persists between the two sides.
Additionally, the U.S. initially promised to immediately unfreeze Iran's frozen assets, but to this day, Iran has yet to see any action from the U.S. to fulfill this commitment. When asked whether it is ultimately possible for Iran and the U.S. to reach a peace agreement, Azizi said the answer depends on the U.S.'s subsequent concrete actions. (CCTV News)
