On Friday, we officially reopened the Troy Bridge, and I am truly glad for what it represents.
Our goal is to better connect rural Jamaica to the centres of opportunity, so people can move more easily to school, work, trade, and access services.
A key part of our national development approach is improving connectivity so that people can move more easily between rural communities, towns, and major economic centres like Kingston, Falmouth, and Montego Bay.
This allows for better access to work, markets, and essential services, while also making it easier to transport goods efficiently.
The investment of over 230 million dollars in this bridge forms part of that wider effort to strengthen infrastructure, improve mobility, and ensure that rural communities are properly integrated into national development.(Andrew Holness)
