Polymarket Launches 'Zcash Orchard Privacy Pool Exploitation Confirmation' Event

Odaily Seer monitoring channel reports that Polymarket has launched a prediction event titled 'Has Zcash's Orchard Privacy Pool been confirmed to have been exploited?' On June 4, the Zcash core development team disclosed that they had deployed an emergency network upgrade to fix a critical cryptographic vulnerability in the Orchard privacy pool, which could potentially allow malicious attackers to forge ZEC out of thin air indefinitely. Due to the technical vulnerability's characteristic of being 'unable to cryptographically prove whether it was exploited in the past,' the independent support organization Shielded Labs subsequently proposed on June 5 to address the issue during the NU7 upgrade at the end of July. This would involve deploying a new privacy pool and implementing strict 'turnstile-accounting' audits for tokens exiting Orchard to identify any forged tokens. According to the settlement rules of this prediction event, if by December 31, 2026, it is confirmed by official sources or mainstream credible media that the vulnerability was effectively exploited on the mainnet before being patched, the event will settle as YES. Odaily Seer monitoring channel continues to track prediction markets, observing changes before pricing.
