According to Cryptobriefing, Hungary's newly appointed Minister of Science and Technology, Zoltán Tanács, stated that the country will remove what he called 'unreasonable' restrictions on the crypto asset market. Previously, Hungary introduced criminal penalties for unauthorized crypto services starting July 1, 2025, leading platforms like Revolut to suspend certain crypto services locally. Tanács claimed that the rules were politically motivated rather than based on prudent regulation. The new government may also revise the regulatory rules for cybersecurity auditors under the EU's NIS2 directive, with around 4,000 Hungarian companies facing a compliance deadline of June 30.
