[Joe Lubin Responds to Ethereum Foundation Layoffs and Restructuring: Not a Crisis but Strategic Streamlining]
According to a report by Coindesk, Ethereum co-founder and Consensys executive Joe Lubin recently addressed the market controversy surrounding the Ethereum Foundation's budget cuts, staff departures, and structural adjustments. He stated that these changes are not a crisis but rather necessary optimization adjustments. Moving forward, the Foundation will narrow its functions, focusing on maintaining the core technology and underlying principles of the network while ensuring absolute neutrality. Tasks such as ecosystem expansion and institutional collaborations will be delegated to other organizations.
He denied claims that Ethereum is entering a decline, acknowledging that current industry capital enthusiasm has been diverted by AI. However, he emphasized that Ethereum's years of scalability planning are already in place, and new scenarios such as on-chain AI agent transactions and agent-driven commerce will become the next growth drivers for the network. Additionally, the distributed ecosystem management model aligns more closely with Ethereum's decentralized nature.
