[Monad Proposes Reducing Consensus Voting Interval to 300ms to Accelerate Block Confirmation Speed] BlockBeats News, June 6: The Monad development team, Category Labs, has released the MIP-12 proposal, suggesting reducing the network consensus voting interval (vote pace) from the current 400 milliseconds to 300 milliseconds to accelerate block confirmation speed and improve consensus efficiency. According to the proposal, the transaction limit per block will be reduced from 5,000 to 3,750, the block proposal gas limit will be lowered from 200 million to 150 million, and the proposal byte limit will be decreased from 2 million bytes to 1.5 million bytes. Additionally, to accommodate the more frequent block generation rhythm, block rewards will be reduced from 25 MON per block to 18 MON per block. Category Labs stated that this adjustment will not affect execution clients, but since it involves changes to consensus layer parameters, it will require implementation through a hard fork. The proposal claims that a faster voting pace will help accelerate quorum formation, thereby enabling faster block generation. MIP-12 was released on June 1 and is currently in Draft status.
