[Analyst: The Job Market No Longer Needs Help, the Fed Should Be Talking About Rate Hikes] Jin10 Data, June 5 – Institutional analyst Anstey commented on U.S. non-farm payrolls: Considering the Federal Reserve's mission to maintain price stability and achieve full employment, based on this data alone, it seems difficult to argue that the current job market needs assistance. On the other hand, the inflation rate has already far exceeded the Fed's 2% inflation target. Next week's CPI data is expected to show core inflation rising to 2.9%, while overall inflation is projected to surge 4.2% year-over-year (which is somewhat concerning compared to the 3.4% annual growth in U.S. average hourly wages for May). It would be surprising if Fed policymakers do not further signal a potential rate hike by 2026.
