[Grayscale Chief Legal Officer: Unlikely That ZEC Vulnerability Was Exploited Before Being Fixed] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 5, Grayscale Chief Legal Officer Craig Salm stated in a post that, from a non-technical perspective, to believe that the ZEC vulnerability was exploited before being fixed, you would have to believe: (1) Someone has studied Zcash's codebase more deeply than ECC, ZODL, Shielded Labs, the Zcash Foundation, and other core Zcash developers and security contributors combined; (2) Someone resisted the temptation to drain the Orchard pool and sell all fake ZEC during a historic bull market with gains exceeding 20x. In my view, this is unlikely. The real focus should be on the fact that Zcash's development and security community is absolutely top-tier in the industry, far ahead of all other protocols in addressing AI-related risks. Given the current capabilities of models, AI risks will eventually impact all protocols. Of course, if a network upgrade were implemented to allow anyone to verify the integrity of Zcash's supply and prove that there are no fake ZEC in the Orchard pool, that would be even better.
