[U.S. Space Force: Blue Origin Still Expected to Undertake Key Satellite Launch Missions]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 5, the U.S. Space Force's procurement department stated that despite last week's launch pad explosion incident, Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin remains eligible to bid, competing with Elon Musk's SpaceX for lucrative U.S. military space launch projects. The U.S. Space Force noted that the Blue Origin incident did not occur during a launch but rather during a final ignition test prior to launch. Since the explosion did not happen during a certification flight, the agency stated that this would not disqualify Blue Origin from the certification process. The company can still participate in bidding for the Pentagon's "National Security Space Launch Program" Phase 3 (also known as "Lane 2") contracts.
