My understanding is that Saylor is basically just saying the harsh truth upfront this time about something that’s going to happen repeatedly every year in the future.
Nothing wrong with that.
The key to MSTR’s game has never been about 'never selling,' but rather ensuring that annual net buying > net selling. As long as this direction doesn’t change, it’s still that BTC accumulation machine.
The issue is: the first time they sell, the market won’t be used to it, emotions will flare up, and faith will be tested.
But honestly, a lot of things are like this—the first time hurts the most. Once we get through this stress test and the market digests this mechanism, people will gradually get used to it.
What Saylor really needs to prove isn’t 'never selling,' but that 'selling a little doesn’t stop us from buying even more.'
