[The Dark Side of the Moon Releases Kimi Work, Supporting Up to 300 Agent Collaborations]
According to monitoring by 动察 Beating, the Beta version of Kimi Work, a general-purpose local Agent client designed for knowledge workers, has been launched alongside the latest beta version of the Kimi Mac client, with the Windows client set to be released soon. Users can operate on local devices using natural language without configuring terminal environments, enabling them to manage files, use browsers, run scheduled tasks, and generate documents, spreadsheets, or presentation PPTs.
The development of Kimi Work deeply integrates AI collaboration. Engineers at The Dark Side of the Moon completed the client build within a week using the local programming agent Kimi Code. Among the over 50,000 lines of effective code produced, 92% were autonomously generated by AI. The rapid development of the client relies on the long-range task execution capabilities of the underlying Kimi K2.6 model, which supports 13 hours of continuous coding and can autonomously invoke tools over 4,000 times in a single task.
In terms of core architecture, Kimi Work has transitioned from a command-line interface to a graphical user interface, marking a shift from a programming agent to a general-purpose work agent. The client comes with the Kimi WebBridge solution, which can control browsers, and integrates professional skills from the online version of Kimi Agent, such as website building and PPT creation, as well as access to financial, scientific research, and legal databases.
For complex tasks, Kimi Work supports multi-agent cluster collaboration, capable of autonomously creating teams of up to 300 sub-agents to handle tasks in parallel based on task complexity. The current testing phase primarily evaluates Kimi Work's capabilities in generating long deliverables, processing local files, and operating browsers.
In office scenarios, Kimi Work can read local product plans and design prototypes, log into subscribed databases via browsers, analyze over 2,400 user reviews to generate cross-border e-commerce market analysis reports, and finally convert them into presentation slides with one click using its PPT skills.
