The executive order states that to upgrade the United States' advanced AI systems, the National Security Systems Committee must prioritize cybersecurity efforts for national security systems within 30 days of the issuance of this order and take appropriate and swift actions to align with the order's objectives. A confidential benchmark assessment process will be established and adhered to in order to evaluate the advanced cybersecurity capabilities of AI models and determine the extent to which AI models should be designated as "Protected Frontier Models." The U.S. will gain access to AI "Frontier Models" prior to their release, with this period lasting up to 30 days. The U.S. will select trusted AI partners within 60 days.
