[Charles Schwab Plans to Launch Cryptocurrency Spot Trading Services for Financial Advisors in 2027] According to Citywire, Jalina Kerr, Head of Advisor Services Experience at Charles Schwab, stated that the company plans to introduce cryptocurrency spot trading functionality for advisors on its custody platform in 2027. Progress is currently on track, and the launch is expected to be closer to mid-year, though the exact date has not been determined. Earlier this year, Charles Schwab rolled out Bitcoin and Ethereum spot trading for retail clients. Kerr noted that digital assets are not subject to unified regulation like other brokerage and securities products, requiring thorough consideration from deposit to withdrawal. She mentioned that advisors currently prefer to allocate crypto assets for clients through Charles Schwab's exchange-traded products, but interest in spot trading has recently increased. Charles Schwab's competitor, Fidelity, already provides crypto custody and trading solutions for wealth management managers.
