[Trump: Agreement Likely to Be Reached Within the Next Week, Today Was Just a Minor Episode] According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 2, citing ABC News, U.S. President Trump believes that within the 'next week,' he will reach an agreement with Iran to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. 'Progress is going well, and it looks very promising,' Trump said. 'There was a minor episode today, but I quickly turned the situation around.' Trump revealed that the episode stemmed from Iran's dissatisfaction with Israel's attack on Lebanon. Trump stated, 'So, I spoke with Hezbollah in Lebanon and told them not to open fire; then I contacted Netanyahu and told him the same thing. As a result, both sides ceased firing.' Trump remarked that reaching a peace agreement with Iran might be 'even more remarkable than achieving a military victory.' As for when the memorandum of understanding to reopen the strait will be finalized and approved, Trump said, 'I think this will likely happen within the next week.' He disclosed that he has not yet formally signed the agreement because 'a few key details still need to be worked out.'
