This is a lesson learned after losing money countless times. There’s a very sneaky way to lose money: you see some institution or KOL make a move you don’t understand, and your first reaction isn’t to question the move itself but to doubt your own understanding. 'They’re managing hundreds of billions in funds, they must see further than I do'—this is the most expensive self-comfort for retail investors. Always remember: when the big players lose money, they lose an extra zero compared to you, but that doesn’t mean they’re smarter than you. When their scale gets big enough, many of their moves are forced—risk control requirements, redemption pressure, leverage liquidation, compliance restrictions. What you think is a 'strategic layout' might just be 'no other choice.' Rule of thumb: if you don’t understand a move and can’t explain it within your own framework, don’t force yourself to rationalize it with the 'big player halo.' Trusting your own judgment over someone else’s status—that’s the only way to survive in the long run.
