When transactions were canceled due to insufficient funds, the network still deducted those funds, resulting in negative balances that caused validator nodes to crash during reconciliation. The Foundation acknowledged that the temporary fix urgently pushed on Thursday carried a known risk of further outages. The team accepted this risk in order to quickly restore on-chain services, which subsequently led to another outage on Friday morning.
