The victim, Yang Weixin, a 53-year-old Chinese real estate company owner, was abducted by three kidnappers on the evening of May 29. The kidnappers demanded $2 million in cryptocurrency as ransom from the victim’s family. When the family failed to pay the ransom in time, the victim was tortured and beaten before being killed by the gang.
