[Former Ukrainian Police Officers Accused of Kidnapping Crypto Entrepreneurs, Involving Over $2.2 Million] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on May 30, Ukrainian prosecutors recently charged a group consisting of former police officers with allegedly kidnapping cryptocurrency entrepreneurs and extorting them, involving a total amount exceeding $2.2 million. Prosecutors stated that the group included four officers, among them two former police colonels, as well as a civilian with a criminal record. They used police resources and vehicles to impersonate law enforcement officers, targeting individuals in the crypto industry for kidnapping and extortion. Investigations revealed that at least four crypto entrepreneurs have been confirmed as victims. In one case, a victim residing in Kyiv was kidnapped at gunpoint and forced to sign fraudulent debt documents worth $5 million. All officers involved in the case have been dismissed, and the case has been handed over to the court for trial.
