Although I'm not entirely sure this is the final outcome, the market already believes that the U.S. has the capability to handle the Strait of Hormuz. Even if Iran and the U.S. can't reach a full ceasefire agreement, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz is already inevitable—it's just a matter of time now. WTI has no chance of staying above $90 for the long term, let alone above $100. That would be dragging the whole world and Iran into destruction. Today you control the Strait of Hormuz, tomorrow someone else could control the Red Sea, and the day after, I could control the Strait of Malacca. There's still a chance to short WTI now.
