[Former Ukrainian Police Officers Accused of Kidnapping Crypto Entrepreneurs, Extorting Over $2.2 Million] Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on May 29, according to Decrypt, the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office in Ukraine completed a pre-trial investigation into a criminal group led by two former police colonels. The group included four former police officers and one civilian with a criminal record. The suspects allegedly used law enforcement skills and official resources to impersonate police officers, tracking, kidnapping, and threatening at least four cryptocurrency entrepreneurs at gunpoint. They forced the victims to sign forged debt documents, extorting a total of approximately $2.2 million. One victim was coerced into signing a fraudulent $5 million "debt agreement." The group was arrested in November 2025, and the case has been transferred to the court.
