Trump Trust Q1 Portfolio Revealed: 3,700 Trades, Aggressively Buying AI and Semiconductor Stocks
According to the OGE Form 278-T document disclosed in mid-May, the Trump Trust account made approximately 3,700 trades in Q1 2026, with a total scale ranging from $220 million to $750 million. The total trading volume is nearly 3x that of the previous year.
The buying focus was highly concentrated: AI, semiconductors, software, and infrastructure.
Key purchases:
- January 12: Texas Instruments, up +72% after purchase
- February 10: Dell, up +142% after purchase; Synopsys +22%; Jabil +47%; AMD +136%
- March 2: Apple, up +16% after purchase
- March 17: Oracle, at least 17 trades throughout the quarter, +25%; Datadog +74%; Fortinet +61%; Cadence +30%
Net reductions during the same period:
- February 10: Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta were all sold off in large amounts on the same day, all members of the Magnificent 7.
The buying logic can be broken down into four themes:
- AI Compute Chain: Nvidia, Broadcom, AMD, Marvell, Micron
- EDA and Chip Design Tools: Synopsys, Cadence
- Enterprise Software/Cloud Services: Oracle, ServiceNow, Adobe, Workday, Datadog
- Aerospace/Energy: Iridium, Intuitive Machines, Bloom Energy
