Haven’t written about the BNB holder airdrop project series in ages. Mainly because there haven’t been any airdrops for a while. A few days ago, both Genius and OPG launched at the same time. Blind guess: there might be something to look forward to. As for OPG’s price, there’s not much to write about, so let’s dive into the background and research why it went live on spot trading. Compared to Genius, this one seems more research-worthy—let’s see if we can predict this kind of info earlier next time.
OpenGradient is a 'dedicated AI computation layer' on the blockchain. Basically, it turns AI computation into a public blockchain infrastructure, running AI like running smart contracts—anyone can verify, and anyone can provide GPUs.
Back in 2024, it secured funding from a16z and Coinbase, raising a total of $8.5M, though the valuation wasn’t disclosed. So, this is the key point: AI + major institutional funding. Currently, FDV is $180M, MC is $34M, with a peak of $470M. Unlocks happen on the 21st of every month.
The token listing path is TGE → Alpha → Contract → Spot. It seems like very few TGE projects skip the contract phase before going to spot trading.
Looking ahead, whether there’s more potential depends on whether it gets listed on CB or UP.
