[KDAC Selected as Custodian for Seized Virtual Assets by the Korean National Tax Service] According to Edaily, Korean Digital Asset Custody company KDAC has been selected as the custodian and operator for seized virtual assets by the Korean National Tax Service. This marks the first instance of the government entrusting the custody of seized virtual assets to a private professional custody company. KDAC has signed a contract with the National Tax Service and will launch the project in June. This project is a follow-up measure to the 'Improvement Plan for the Public Sector's Virtual Asset Holding and Management System,' jointly announced by the government in April this year. It aims to establish a formal operational model after a pilot operation by introducing a private custody and operation system. This model will serve as a reference case for public institutions such as the Prosecutor's Office, the Police Agency, and Customs in managing virtual assets.
