The path of making agents learn to spend money is being proven: OKX APP may be running the first on chain curve of AI commercialization!
What is OKX's Agent Payments Protocol used for? It is not for human use, it is for AI agents to use "on chain cashier+payment protocol+commercial settlement rules".
When it was first pushed out, it was still unknown what kind of data it could run. Just seeing this data dashboard below, I felt that it was really explosive!

Starting from late May, payment data related to the X Layer app suddenly ignited: the cumulative transaction volume exceeded 6 million US dollars; The cumulative number of transactions is close to 1.8 million; Independent sending addresses exceeding 300000;
This indicates that the APP has already started to run real payment data on the chain through Skills, API, SDK, and merchant access.
But I think the most important thing here is not how much quantity there is now, but the slope.
Agent Payment is not essentially a traditional large payment method, but rather a high-frequency, small-scale, and automatic settlement between machines.
So the number of transactions, independent addresses, and daily activity retention are more worth considering than just TVL or transaction volume.
What we really need to observe next is: Will the data fall back after the event ends? Will merchant access continue to increase? Has the agent really started automatically paying for APIs, tools, services, content, and computing power?
If these data can be retained, the APP will not just be OKX creating a new protocol, but X Layer may truly grasp the bottom layer of AI Agent commercialization:
Teach agents how to spend money and enable services to be purchased by agents.
