Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4.8, and the scariest part of this update is the new ultimate move introduced in Claude Code: Dynamic Workflows.
When faced with hell-level complex development tasks, Opus 4.8 is done wasting time talking to you word by word.
It will create its own plan and pull together a “freelance team” of hundreds of subagents in the background to work on parallel development. They’ll validate each other’s work, fix bugs, and package everything up before handing it over to you.
For example, migrating a massive low-level project involving hundreds of files—what used to make a mid-sized team sweat bullets—can now be handled quietly in the background.
The independent working ability of a senior engineer, combined with hundreds of clones working simultaneously online—this is true multi-agent parallelism.
The kicker? This thing has completely smashed the price and speed barriers:
Turn on /fast mode, and the speed skyrockets by 2.5x, while the cost is slashed to one-third of what it used to be.
Benchmark scores? It’s leaving GPT-5.5 and Gemini 3.1 Pro in the dust. Even Elon Musk dropped a “Nice work” in the comments under the tweet.
