Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified the Memorandum of Understanding on Macro-Financial Assistance to Ukraine under the Ukraine Support Loan and the Ukraine Support Loan Agreement. This opens the way for the EUR 90 billion Ukraine Support Loan package for 2026-2027, of which EUR 60 billion is directed to defence needs. In 2026 alone, Ukraine expects EUR 28.3 billion in defence support, including a first EUR 5.9 billion defence tranche expected to support Ukrainian-made drones, strengthen defence industrial capacities, and ensure urgent, high-impact deliveries to the frontline. Ukraine’s defence requirements remain significant. Every euro invested in Ukraine’s defence strengthens the security of Europe. Grateful to the European Union and its Member States for their leadership and continued support.
