[Trump Files Another $10 Billion Lawsuit Over Wall Street Journal's Epstein-Related Report]
Golden Finance reports, May 28: Former U.S. President Trump has once again filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and its parent company, News Corp, over a report alleging close ties between him and Jeffrey Epstein. The initial lawsuit for the same case had previously been dismissed by a judge. The revised complaint was submitted to a federal court in Florida on Wednesday evening local time, just before the judge's set deadline. The earlier lawsuit was dismissed because the judge ruled that the plaintiff failed to sufficiently demonstrate that the report was published with "actual malice"—a high threshold required for defamation cases involving public figures.
The lawsuit targets a report published by The Wall Street Journal in July 2025, which claimed that Trump had sent Epstein a "lewd" birthday card in 2003. Trump has repeatedly asserted that the card was fabricated.
