The differences in the US Iran negotiations have not been resolved so far, But the war has almost come to an end. Based on the information currently released, The core disagreement still lies like an iceberg in the middle: On May 23rd, US President Trump publicly stated that the US and Iran have basically reached an agreement that includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iran's Supreme National Security Council explicitly stated on May 27th that "the two sides have not yet reached an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz issue". Iran is currently negotiating a new ship passage mechanism with Oman, bypassing the United States, with the aim of firmly holding control of the strait in its own hands. During the negotiation, both sides are using limited military actions to increase bargaining chips at the negotiating table. On May 26th, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the shooting down of a US drone in retaliation for the US's previous self-defense micro attacks on its missile base and minesweeper. Iran has also set three hard conditions for negotiations: Request for money: Iran demands the unfreezing of approximately $24 billion in overseas assets, with half ($12 billion) immediately released upon signing the memorandum of understanding and the rest to be returned within 60 days. Comprehensive ceasefire: In the first stage of the preliminary agreement, the United States must commit to implementing a 60 day comprehensive ceasefire on all fronts, and explicitly name must include Lebanese territory. Stripping the nuclear issue: Iran firmly refuses to discuss highly enriched uranium inventories in this negotiation, and the nuclear issue has been indefinitely postponed until the end of the war. The next negotiation is on Friday, and Trump will still release many positive signals, while Iran will also send signals of victory: The White House now urgently needs to see a drop in oil prices and a cooling of inflation. Iran is currently working hard to redefine the strait as its own territorial waters and attempting to impose so-called protection fees on passing ships. For Trump, signing the protection fee extortion case is an absolute act of political suicide, as the US has clearly stated its firm opposition to any charging mechanism. No one is talking for true peace, everyone is fighting for cash flow and time for their next crisis.
