**[AI Programming Startup Cognition Secures Over $1 Billion in Funding, Valuation Rises to $25 Billion]**
Odaily Planet Daily reports that AI programming startup Cognition has announced the completion of a new funding round exceeding $1 billion, raising its pre-money valuation to $25 billion—doubling from its post-money valuation of $10.2 billion just eight months ago. The round was co-led by Lux Capital and General Catalyst, with continued participation from Founders Fund and 8VC, alongside new investors such as Ribbit Capital, Atreides, and Layer Global.
Officially disclosed data shows that the company's AI programmer product, Devin, has achieved a 50% month-over-month growth in enterprise user adoption over the past six months. The company's annual recurring revenue (ARR) has now reached $492 million, with major clients including Mercedes-Benz, NASA, Goldman Sachs, and Santander Bank.
Amid competition from native AI programming tools like Anthropic Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Google Jules, Cognition stated that Devin's sustained growth and the acquisition of Windsurf assets demonstrate that independent AI programming agents still hold significant commercial potential.
