According to Yonhap News, South Korean brokerage firm Samsung Securities announced it will acquire a 2.00% stake in Dunamu, the parent company of South Korea's largest crypto exchange Upbit, for approximately 306.4 billion KRW. Sellers include Kakao Investment, Kakao Ventures, and others. Based on a per-share price of about 439,000 KRW, Dunamu's valuation is estimated at around 15.3 trillion KRW. Samsung Securities stated that this investment aims to strengthen its competitiveness in the digital asset business and achieve synergy effects.
