OpenSea Launches Ethereum Open Standard ERC-8257, Positioned as an 'AI Agent Tool App Store'

According to official sources, OpenSea has announced the launch of the Ethereum open standard ERC-8257 (Agent Tool Registry), positioning it as an 'AI Agent Tool App Store.' This standard allows developers to register tools on-chain, define access rules and pricing, and enables AI agents to autonomously discover, purchase access rights, and invoke tools without human intervention. OpenSea stated that this standard integrates with protocols such as ERC-8004 (Agent Identity), MCP (Tool Discovery), and x402 (Payment Protocol) in a layered combination, collectively forming the foundational infrastructure for on-chain operations of AI agents. Currently, ERC-8257 is still in the draft stage, and OpenSea is inviting developers to participate in refining the specification.
