[Super PACs Spend Tens of Millions to Support New Congressman in Defeating 20-Year Anti-Crypto Incumbent] According to Golden Finance, on May 27, freshman Congressman Christian D. Menefee defeated 20-year incumbent Representative Al Green in the Democratic primary runoff for Texas's 18th Congressional District. This victory was partly attributed to the financial backing of cryptocurrency-affiliated Super Political Action Committees (Super PACs), which poured millions of dollars into the race. Fairshake and its affiliated organizations invested approximately $10.5 million in this election, including about $6.5 million to support Menefee and another $4 million to oppose Green. Green had previously been rated an "F" by the Stand With Crypto organization for voting against pro-crypto legislation such as the GENIUS Act and the Clarity Act. Fairshake recently issued the following statement: "Representative Green's defeat demonstrates that a hostile stance toward cryptocurrency carries tangible electoral consequences; he has now become the first Democratic incumbent to lose their seat in this election cycle. Fairshake played a decisive role in this campaign, and we will continue to strongly support leaders like Congressman Menefee nationwide.
