Bloomberg: 9 whale wallets dominate Polymarket's multi billion dollar dispute resolution
According to Bloomberg, the ruling on disputed contracts on Polymarket is being dominated by a few UMA holders. Bloomberg statistics show that out of over 6400 addresses that participated in Polymarket dispute resolution voting in the past three years, only 9 large wallets contributed about half of UMA voting rights and stood on the winning side in almost all disputes. In April 2026, approximately 230 contracts with a total transaction volume exceeding $1 billion entered the dispute resolution process, accounting for less than 1% of all contracts in Polymarket, but the frequency of disputes increased with the increase in transaction size. Some traders criticize that this mechanism actually gives anonymous whales "factual decision-making power" guided by economic interests, while Polymarket and Risk Labs, responsible for UMA, have put on hold their plans to improve related processes.
