OKX is pulling out the big guns again! In June, OKX is launching its first official Exchange OS marketplace.
In the past, if you wanted to start a trading marketplace, there were basically two options: either rely on a big platform or spend a ton of money building your own system, matching engine, and risk control. For most teams, it was just out of reach.
But now, with OKX’s new Exchange OS, they’re opening up the 'exchange infrastructure system.' My understanding is it’s like system open-source+.
In the future, it’s not just platforms that can create marketplaces—individuals, teams, project owners, and even communities can build their own trading markets based on X Layer. And it’s not just limited to spot trading; it also includes perpetual contracts, prediction markets, and more.
The key point is that it’s backed by institutional-grade infrastructure. Core capabilities like matching, margin, and clearing are directly available—no need to develop from scratch. In simple terms, they’re giving the kind of power that only big exchanges used to have to a much wider audience.
